The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been under pressure for quite a while to regulate aircraft carbon emissions in which they petitioned the EPA to do so in 2007 citing the Clean Air Act and then sued the agency in 2010. About a week ago, Reuters reported the agency declared greenhouse gas emissions from planes were hazardous to human health and is expected to propose rules to clamp down on them during the late summer.

In light of this, media outlets supportive of environmentalist efforts are following through with commentaries scolding people for travel by air. Mother Jones, for example, recently published a piece defending President Obama and the EPA’s efforts. But taking into account their own charts, two state that air travel overall produces only 2.6% of total greenhouse gas emissions and is the greenest way to travel using a trip to New York City from Washington DC as an example.

Despite these facts, it still does not prevent green-friendly publications like Mother Jones and environmentalist groups from scolding you for using planes as a mode of transportation so you can conduct business or even visit family members or friends. All of that means nothing in the grand scheme of things since environmentalism damns human existence to the point where no matter what activity humans are involved in. According to the green doctrine of original sin, humans are generationally guilty of impacting Mother Earth and we must sacrifice our lives and fortunes to a nobler, higher purpose of preserving the planet no matter what the cost. Even if it means eradicating human life itself.
