In light of the recent decision by the HHS to suspend their funding to the Eco-Health Alliance resulting from allegations of questionable coronavirus research and fraud, a recent bombshell admission on the part of the agency’s principal deputy director Lawrence Tabak to a House subcommittee. During questioning, Tabak said that gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology was conducted prior to the COVID-19 outbreak in which even the intelligence community knew about this too.

Tabak was forced to disclose the NIH’s altering the definition of gain-of-function research done after doing so was approved by the agency’s experts.

“The change was made by our communications department because of the confusion that people have about the generic term of gain-of-function and the specific term gain-of-function,” Tabak testified.

Malliotakis responded by suggesting the communications department would not be qualified to make a change like this and must have had other input.

“The content was vetted,” Tabak testified. “By individuals who are subject-matter experts.”

After years of denials, the agency finally broke down and admitted they were involved in gain-of-function research. However, Lawrence Tabak initially tried to downplay their doing so. Fortunately, his feet were held to the fire and he divulged what a lot of people already knew but weren’t able to confirm. Until now.
