In 5 days, the Walt Disney Company will open its new Polynesian DVC Tower at Walt Disney World.
It is a tacky addition to the Disney World skyline and reason for this is abundantly clear: its focus is on sustainability rather than creating something that is visually appealing and blends with the overall aesthetic of the resort. The tower’s design emphasizes the spirit of conservation, featuring art installations made from so-called sustainable materials as a central element and the structure is also designed to use less energy likely to be in line with Disney’s environmental goals.
What is unfortunate is that the rooms will only be available for Disney Vacation Club members. Overall, the company creates something that appears so low-quality in a space that was carefully and thoughtfully designed to be perfectly beautiful. But, hey, at least at least the rugs are made from recycled plastics.
