There is little indication that Britain’s Labour government has given up extending 20% inheritance taxes on agricultural land and decided recently to bring the proposal up for debate. Consequently, British farmers returned to London and flooded the streets like they did late last year with any number of farm equipment to make their case that they are serious about their opposition.
The National Farmer’s Union says Chancellor Rachel Reeves, who oversees the nation’s treasury has refused repeated requests from the NFU and other agricultural groups to meet.
A a petition that opposes the new tax scheme has garnered nearly 150,000 signatures. Thankfully, there are indications that if the farmer’s continue to persist, they’ll win.
Great Britain’s Labour government is obsessed with NetZero and since farms are cited by the Left as one of the worst carbon emitters coupled with the Left’s resentment of self-reliance, Labour’s inheritance tax scheme is the perfect mechanism to wipe farmers out.
