I edited a previous essay in order post this. Recently, Greenpeace (who is staunchly against bio tech foods) issued a statement expressing solidarity with the people of the Philippines resulting from the events surrounding typhoon Hagupit. Their actions are nothing more than a sad, sick joke. The group’s opposition to genetically modified foods has contributed to the starvation and deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in countries like the Philippines who benefit from bio tech foods so their people can eat and live. Environmentalists mourn the loss of victims of Hagupit but cut survivors off from being able to eat.
