Fox News Owes Newt Gingrich An Apology

During an appearance on Fox News‘ program Outnumbered yesterday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was shut down from making a point about District Attorneys funded by George Soros intentionally not charging criminals who conduct rioting, looting, and other illegal acts.

As it turns out, Outnumbered hosts and producers conveniently overlooked the fact that the point Newt made was reported by Fox News in late July. Author Robby Starbuck went into even more detail revealing proof that supported Newt Gingrich’s statement.* This isn’t the first time the network has done things like this.

Fox Business fired Trish Regan during March of this year for making a similar point Tucker Carlson has many times about the Left and the media weaponizing the coronavirus in order to take down President Trump. Fox also cancelled their contract with Diamond & Silk the following month over some, admittedly, weird conspiratorial remarks they made about COVID-19 too.

Fox News champions itself as a defender of free speech, but obviously this standard only applies when it is convenient and they need to be held accountable. Please contact Fox News and (politely) demand they apologize, not only to Newt Gingrich, but also to their audience for this incident. Below is a video of the events as they transpired.

*ADDENDUM: U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr was interviewed on Martha McCallum’s Fox News show The Story last year and he called out George Soros too. It makes sense that Fox no longer uses the motto: Fair and Balanced.

ADDENDUM 2: Harris Faulkner took time to address what happened yesterday and denies censoring Newt Gingrich. But, in fact, she did and her statement wasn’t an apology, but an effort at damage control.

ADDENDUM 3 (09/18/2020): Newt Gingrich will not remain silent about George Soros.
