During March, a British Eco-Hoodlum group called Tyre Extinguishers started a campaign to slash tires across England. This effort soon caught on in the United States and the group’s vandalism has now expanded nationwide. Tyre Extinguishers’ claim that they want to hit the car industry where it hurts is nothing more than a cruel joke and deflection at best.

In reality, the car industry will benefit from the new money they receive from people have had their tires slashed while generating more carbon emissions resulting from people traveling to have their tires replaced. The victims of this vandalism will also dig in and refuse to give up their vehicles in reaction to what are really intimidation methods. Hopefully, the police will find and prosecute these vandals soon.
