So they’re climate refugees?

A Texas couple who relocated from Austin seeking refuge from climate change discovered their idyllic new beginning in a picturesque Maine community fell short of expectations.
Bangor Daily News reports that Shawn and Sara Good arrived in Little City, a Bangor neighborhood celebrated for its walkable streets and 19th-century historic buildings, in late April. But within days of settling in, they discovered human waste on their front porch after someone experiencing homelessness had spent the night there.
The couple had left outdoor furniture cushions on the stairs of their 126-year-old home, still awaiting unpacking. These items were quickly claimed by someone seeking shelter.
Bangor has seen homelessness rise sharply in recent years, prompting city councilors to unanimously approve a new ordinance on Monday prohibiting residents from storing personal belongings on sidewalks adjacent to public spaces such as libraries.
Despite what happened, the Goods don’t regret their move. They told the Bangor Daily News that at one point their former home had a fourth catastrophic weather event (including wildfires) and said no one did anything about it. They’re obviously relieved they’ve fled to greener pastures (pun intended) including a more affordable place to live.
Hopefully, the Goods stay well and stay safe. However, time will tell if they sing a different tune resulting from the other insane, woke policies Bangor if not the entire state of Main has embraced.
The woke madness isn’t limited to Bangor, and Maine residents overall have obviously had enough.
