A curious article published in USA Today. NASA Goddard Institute director Gavin Schmidt and Jason Funk a senior climate scientist for the climate and energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists are disputing (read: denying) the conclusion that another little ice age will take place by 2030.
In fairness, USA Today quotes the quoted study’s author, Russian scientist Valentina Zharkova, as stating she was surprised at the coverage her study’s findings received that lead to the press reporting a new little ice age would occur. She said she does not dispute the ice age claim even though she did not state it would happen. She maintains that solar activity will decline to a point on par with the Maunder Minimum. The result of which would lead to a new mini ice age.
Yet again, we see climate alarmists deny science since it goes against their claim about human-caused global warming. It is clear they will deny science if it goes against their narrative. I suppose it would make no difference to Schmidt and Funk that even a press release published at the website of the American Association for the Advancement of Science also reported a new little ice age would occur as a result of Dr. Zharkova’s findings and it was her conclusion. One could logically conclude that history would repeat itself with a significant drop off in solar activity that is outlined in the manuscript in question as well.
None the less, if you are still doubtful or would like to know more, below is a video where the narrator goes over the ice core record and other data that shows a new little ice age will occur.
