On Sunday, Professor of Geophysical & Climate Hazards at University College London (UCL) Bill McGuire posted a tweet that bemoaned carbon emissions were not falling fast enough in order to stave off climate change. His stated solution is a deadly pandemic to eradicate large segments of the human population.

Consequently, McGuire received enough backlash that he deleted the tweet, essentially saying people misinterpreted what he said (i.e. the old out of context excuse). In reality, McGuire said the quiet part out loud.

Later, Prof. McGuire insisted his tweet was about economic activity and not killing people.

McGuire was a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) that acted as an advisory panel to the British government on addressing the COVID-19 pandemic. Meaning he was among a number of panelists who recommended the vast number of coronavirus restrictions British citizens had to endure that were signed off on by then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

What’s worse he is a sloppy scientist too having made numerous errors in his research. With all of this in mind, it is not so much what McGuire said or his past work history that is concerning, but what he champions in a column he authored published recently in The Guardian.

In his essay, McGuire is trying to warn people of a climate breakdown that will cause an eventual civilizational collapse. Simultaneously, McGuire takes a shot at his fellow scientists for not being more open about it while getting his digs in on the usual suspects (i.e. Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the Murdochs).

What is of concern, isn’t just McGuire’s attempt to back track after being caught advocating killing people, but that McGuire also takes time in his column to praise the climate cult group, Scientist Rebellion, that literally engages in acts of eco-terrorism.

Happily, there has been a sea change in recent years, thanks in part to the formation of high-profile groups such as Scientist Rebellion, so that now many scientists join protests, even getting arrested. Research in the journal Nature revealed 90% of climate scientists in 2021 said they had been involved in some form of public engagement.

The group that McGuire praises not only tries to prevent pipeline construction, but also blocks airport entrance, obstruct roads and bridges, and (according to their website) participates in any number of activities coordinating with other climate cult organizations. His entire column was so whacked out, McGuire has also been criticized by his colleagues in the scientific field.

Anyone, like Bill McGuire, who claims that they are following the science while engaging in activities with groups, like Scientist Rebellion, are really political activists. He and his colleagues are undoubtedly indoctrinating their students and recruiting them too. There is nothing wrong with any of these ladies or gentlemen protesting any government policies as long as it is peaceful and doesn’t involve acts of violence or, in this case, obstruction or sabotage.

It is people, like Bill McGuire, who diminish the respect and dignity of science because their actions clearly demonstrate they think it is their job to impose their conclusions on everyone else. Every one of these misfits are despicable and should lose their jobs. McGuire and other scientists engaged in climate cult activities are largely paid by the British taxpayers and is using the salary he earns against the very people who fund his way of life.
