Environmentalists continue to look on the bright side for the effects of coronavirus lockdowns and this time the green infested World Economic Forum weighs in. Aside from the global body previously acknowledging the negative consequences of lockdowns and their call for a reset of the world’s economy, WEF’s Twitter account posted a video yesterday literally praising the effects of the #COVID-19 lockdowns.
World Economic Forum was even nice enough to express their glee highlighting the research of the Swiss Seismologists Service based at a university in Zurich who noted urban noise output was halved resulting from the COVID-19 lockdowns too. Tweets like this and the reaction WEF had to the backlash of their initial Twitter post shows the seething hatred these ivory tower elites have for the average people.
During November of last year, the WEF outlined a new concept called servitization. Taking into account their callous disregard for the psychological effects of coronavirus lockdowns, and what the group explains about their idea, the only conclusion one can draw is that global organization is talking about outlining another Road to Serfdom rather than explaining economic activity. The World Economic Forum would rather people live lives in misery with chains of diamonds rather than flourish in liberty.
“‘Emergencies’ have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have been eroded — and once they are suspended it is not difficult for anyone who has assumed such emergency powers to see to it that the emergency persists.” (Friedrich Hayek, Law, Legislation and Liberty, Vol. 3, 1979, 124, emphasis added).
